Its Been a Long Time Coming…And We Aren’t There Yet

Cannabis is now legal to grow, possess, and consume in Ohio for adults over 21.  There’s been a whole lot of hullabaloo regarding the potential for restrictions on THC levels, plant counts, and consumption practices due to the Senate’s proposal of a much more restrictive version of the law, entitled Sub. H.B. 86.  This bill would essentially outlaw vapes and concentrates, ban consumption outdoors or in public, and limit the number of plants per household to 6.  The chances of this bill passing the House are virtually nonexistent.  And if it does not pass the House there doesn’t seem to be much the Senate could do about it.

Instead, H.B. 354 has been proposed which keeps most of the current laws language in place while adding some safeguards for advertising and marketing to children.  H.B. 354 seems likely to pass and move things along in a more positive direction.  Until then, the law remains unchanged.  You can still possess up to 2.5 ounces of flower and 15 grams of extracts.  Purchasing is still on hold until dispensaries receive the regulations they need to start selling to non medical patients.  At least they didn’t try to sneak a “non-combustion” law in there with the proposed THC limits.  So, go out and burn 1 to celebrate!

As far as plant count goes, we all know that 6 or even 12 plants is a ridiculously low number to keep any sort of variety or stability going in a garden.  The only way around that is to grow some monsters!  If you want some pointers on how to get the most out of your plants and the space you’re growing in then stop on out or give us a call!
